Schedule & Escape Rooms

Greetings!

Can you believe that 3 Fridays from now, we’ll be at Mysterium?

The closer it gets to Mysterium, the more I get asked “So what’s happening at Mysterium?” Sometimes people want the specific schedule, and sometimes people just want to know the kind of events we run. Today, I’m excited to announce the completed schedule. You can check it out here!

You can also check out the schedule in more detail, including event descriptions, via our Guidebook at https://guidebook.com/guide/100590/schedule/#date/08-04-2017.

Just looking at the schedule is making me excited. Mysterium is so close, and I can’t wait to see you all there.

Escape Rooms

Just like last year, we have partnered with a local escape room business to book several rooms for attendees. It’s even easier this year, because the escape rooms are just across the street from the Mysterium hotel! Tickets are limited, and we expect them to go quickly, so don’t wait to get yours over at the registration page.

And remember, if you haven’t registered yet, pre-registration closes in just a week!

Cyan and More

As a reminder, Cyan will be streaming a live Q&A at Mysterium. If you have a question you’d like to ask them, you can submit it here: https://goo.gl/forms/xGBKW3x5gVDFSn7G3.

And now, here’s the list of what Drew is most looking forward to in Orlando:

  • Traveling the furthest South I’ve ever been
  • Seeing the WWAB creations
  • Catching up with attendees
  • Pool time
  • Getting a sneak preview of Cyan’s new home decor product line that’s supposed to be so stunning, it’ll make your guests feel like they’ve been transported to another world.

Cyan Q&A

Greetings All!

This year at Mysterium, we’ll be having a live Q&A stream with members of Cyan’s Obduction team, and that means we need questions for them! So if you have a burning question you’ve been longing to ask Cyan, now is your chance. Just follow this link and fill out the form: https://goo.gl/forms/xGBKW3x5gVDFSn7G3

You can submit as many questions as you want, and all topics are welcome. That said, the main focus of the Q&A will be on a post-mortem of Obduction’s development so far, so we’re especially looking for Obduction related questions.

Questions will be accepted until Sunday, July 23rd.

Registration and Hotel

Quick reminder that registration will remain open until next Friday, July 21st. Also, if you still need a hotel room and haven’t booked one yet, we may be able to get you a room at our convention rate. Please see here for details: https://www.mysterium.net/location/#hotel

Other Bits

If you are planning to visit any of Disney’s parks while you’re in Orlando, I highly recommend getting your tickets now so that you can sign up for Disney’s FastPass service. It’s free, and it lets you skip the line at popular rides, but the slots fill up well in advance!

Finally, continuing our showcase of what committee members are most looking forward to in Orlando, here’s mine:

  • Way too much sugar at this place across the street from the hotel (https://sugarfactory.com/location/orlando/)
  • Seeing my Myst family
  • Fancy afternoon tea at a fancy Disney hotel
  • Defending Esher and Myst V to anyone and everyone! … as usual

Stay tuned for more info later this week!

Preparing for Orlando

Shorah Mysterium attendees!

It’s only a couple weeks until Mysterium! I’ve seen a few people on Facebook ask for ideas on what to bring to the convention. So, as someone who has attended quite a few conventions and is a native of the Sunshine State, I thought I’d put together a handy list of suggestions of what to bring.Continue reading

Location Info & Shirt Order Deadline Extension

Shorah!

Can it be that Mysterium is really only 8 weeks away? I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to be in Orlando soaking up the sun and seeing all of my fellow Cyan fans.

I’ve got two updates for you today.

First, the early-bird package of registration + a shirt ends tonight, but we’ve decided to extend T-shirt orders for 1 week. That means that you can still order a T-shirt with your standard badge until June 16th, so visit the Registration page today!

The second thing I’ve got for you is our newly expanded Location Guide.

One of the nice things about taking Mysterium to new cities is the chance to get to spend some time exploring the host city. We’ve never been to the Southeast before, and Orlando’s a great choice since there’s so much to do. Obviously there are theme parks, like Disney, Universal Studios, and Sea World. There are also some really cool attractions, like the Orlando Eye, the Orlando Science Center, Kennedy Space Center, and more.

Visit our Location Guide to see what the team thinks is awesome in Orlando. I know a bunch of people are going to be coming early or staying longer. Want to go to a theme park but think it would be more fun with friends? We’ve started a post in our Facebook group to help you find an exploring buddy or three!

We’ll be updating this guide over the next few weeks to add in more things to do, places to eat, and other items of interest, so keep checking in.

I’m looking forward to seeing all of you in 2 months!

T-Shirts Update & Reminders

Shorah everyone,

Well, we were hoping to be able to announce our t-shirt logo today. Unfortunately, while we did receive a couple of poster art submissions from the art contest, we didn’t get any shirt logos. We have a volunteer working on one, but it’ll be a couple weeks before we can announce it. We’ll let you know what the shirts will look like as soon as we can! In the meantime, you can pre-order your shirts and register for the convention here.

Also, a reminder that Events and Conbook submissions are open until June 9th. As of today, we’ve only received a few event submissions, and no conbook submissions. As always, we’re entirely volunteer and community run, so we really rely on you all to help us make Mysterium a success. If you have an idea for a cool event, we can help make it happen! But you need to submit it. Similarly, if you have friends who make Myst or Obduction art, or fan fiction, or anything of that nature, please consider sending them the conbook link.

We can’t do it without you, so get those submissions in!
