Travel Info, Room Sharing, & More

Greetings All,

I have a handful of things to share with you today.

Registration, Shirts, and Hotel Rooms

Early bird registration has ended, which means that t-shirt pre-orders have also ended. You can still register online until July 24th. There will be a limited supply of t-shirts available for purchase on-site, for those that missed the cutoff date.

On a related note, when I last spoke to the hotel on Monday, we were within two rooms of hitting our initial room-block reservation. I don’t know how much space the hotel has available beyond that, so I would recommend booking your hotel rooms soon, if you haven already done so.

Travel Info

We have added a page that explains several options for getting to the Mysterium hotel from various starting locations. You can check it out here. That leads into…

Room & Ride Share Forums

The forums have returned (after a bit of database wrangling)! You can use the forums to find roommates to lower the cost of a hotel room, and for coordinating ride sharing on the way to the convention. I’ve pinned a post to the top of each sub-forum with directions on how to get the most out of them.

Submission Reminders

A few quick reminders:

If you were planning to submit an event/panel idea, now is the time! Submissions close at the end of this week, on June 19th. You can get all the details here.

Paper People submissions are still open. You can get the details from this post.

Finally, we are still looking for some kind souls to donate items for prizes. If you have any ideas, please drop us a line at info@mysterium.net.

The End

We’re getting very close now! Under two months to go. Next time, I hope to have a little teaser of something we’ve code named Escape the Age to show you. But until then,

T-Shirt Sales Closing

This is just a quick reminder that T-Shirt sales close tomorrow. At the same time, pre-reg prices will increase. So if you haven’t put in your order yet, now is the time!

As always, you can find registration details here: http://www.mysterium.net/registration/

Paper People & Other News

Well, it has been a while since our last update, so here’s the latest:

Paper People

We are officially opening Paper People submissions as of today. If you can’t make it to Mysterium, but want to be there in spirit, you can come in the form of a picture. Send a picture of  whatever represents you (yourself, your avatar, etc) to paperpeople@mysterium.net. We will print them all out and display them on a table. Submissions must be made by July 24th.

Schedule

Several people have asked what Mysterium’s schedule looks like. While we wont have the complete schedule until we are closer to the convention, we have put together a rough example of what to expect. You can find that here: http://www.mysterium.net/events/schedule/

Prizes

If you’ve been to Mysterium before, you know we always have all manner of nifty prizes to give out. These are generally donated by very generous crafty people in the Myst community. If you are a crafty person, and would be willing to donate one or two small items to our prize table, we would be extremely grateful. Please drop us a line at info@mysterium.net.

Conbook & Event Submissions

We are fast approaching the deadline for conbook and event/panel submissions.

Conbook submissions close on June 5th (less than two weeks from today). We haven’t received many submissions for the conbook this year, and as such we may not have enough content to print one. If you’ve been planning to submit something but have been putting it off, please submit it soon! You can find all the details about submissions here: http://www.mysterium.net/2015/01/conbook-submissions-are-open/

Meanwhile, event submissions close on June 19th. Be sure to get them in before the deadline! You can find event submission details here: http://www.mysterium.net/events/

Registration Numbers, T-shirt Deadline, & Hotel Rooms

As of right now, we’re hovering around 65 weekend registrations! I’m extremely happy to know that we’re still drawing new people into the Mysterium family/community, and I can’t wait to meet all the new faces.

If you’re planning to attend but haven’t registered yet, remember that Early Bird registration ends on June 15th. After that point, the price of registration goes up and all T-shirt sales will be CLOSED. Registration info is here: www.mysterium.net/registration/

On a related note, when I last checked with the hotel, our room-block was around 70% full. That could easily fill up, though, so be sure to book your hotel room as soon as possible. Also, remember that our hotel room rate is only good if you book before July 7th. Hotel info is here: http://www.mysterium.net/location/

Next Time, On Mysterium:

That’s all I have for now. We plan to update the location page with more travel information soon, and I will post once that is done. As always, please feel free to drop us a line at info@mysterium.net if you have any questions/comments.

Until then,

Quick Hotel Update

Hi again!

I wanted to post a quick update about the hotel situation. Folks who tried to book yesterday were finding that they could not get Thursday and Sunday nights at our rate. We have spoken to the hotel, and they fixed the problem on their end this morning. We also now have a link so that you can book your rooms through the web! You can find that over on the Location page.

Many thanks to the people who brought this to our attention!

Announcing the Mysterium Hotel

Shorah All

At long last, we are ready to announce the hotel for Mysterium 2015!

I apologize for the long wait. This time around it ended up taking much longer than usual to secure a hotel with the rates that we all expect at Mysterium. But in the end, we managed to get a very nice hotel!

The hotel for Mysterium 2015 will be the Boston Marriott Burlington. We’ve negotiated a room rate of $115/night for a room with two queen beds. As always, the convention itself will take place in one of the hotel’s large meeting spaces on the first floor.

To book your room, and to see other information about the location and the hotel, please check out our Location page. We recommend reserving early, to make sure you get a room. And don’t forget to register for the weekend and buy a t-shirt here.

I also want to remind everyone that we are currently accepting submissions for events, as well as for the convention book.

As always, if you have any questions, comments, friendly jabs, or good baking recipes, please feel free to contact us.

Until next time,
-Taniith, Mysterium 2015 Chair
