Coming Together

Here I go using the Mysterium blog as a blog again without telling Communications…

We’re just over a day away from the unofficial start of Mysterium tomorrow evening, and things are coming together nicely. Our swag gear has been delivered and stuffed into bags, convention books are here, the screen-printed t-shirts just arrived this morning, and our badges (complete with a mini schedule!) are all put together. It all looks fantastic! We even have an awesome banner to put at the registration desk, courtesy of Eleri.

I’m excited and also kind of panicked that we’re so close to the weekend. It’ll be one heck of a good time, and I hope everything goes according to plan. See you all at the hotel!

Mysterium 2010 Location Poll NOW OPEN!

The Mysterium Committee is pleased to announce that the location poll for Mysterium 2010 is now open! For those who are interested in attending next year’s Mysterium, this is your chance to have a say in where it’ll be held. The poll will close on July 18, so spread the word and vote!

(Drum roll, please!) The candidate cities are:

  • Dallas, Texas
  • Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Kansas City, Missouri
  • Minneapolis, Minnesota
  • St. Louis, Missouri

To vote in the poll, please visit: http://www.mysterium.net/limesurvey/index.php?sid=42269. At the start of the poll, you will be presented with an overview of each city which will include general costs, travel information, and some interesting attractions. We encourage you to review each city before you make a decision. Please note that we are running the poll a bit differently than in 2008, so please read the directions carefully. If you have problems with the poll, contact the Location Subcommittee via the Contact Form.

We will be announcing the location during Mysterium 2009 (July 30 – August 2), so watch for the results on that weekend!

Thanks to each and every one of you for your continued excitement about Mysterium. Our only goal is to provide you the best Mysterium possible, and we look forward to 2010.

TW, Odo, GermanShepherd (Location Team), and the rest of the Mysterium Committee

Mysterium 2009 Hotel Reservation Reminder

Attention Mysterium 2009 attendees!

This is a friendly reminder to reserve your hotel rooms now! You will be unable to receive the Mysterium group rate if you reserve after July 17. The group rate of $89/night can also be used 3 days before and after the event. Room reservations may be canceled as late as 4pm on the day you check in, so it is recommended that you reserve now even if you may not be able to make it.

The hotel’s reservation number is (509) 535-9000 and be sure to mention the “Mysterium Group” when you call!

If there are any problems, feel free to contact Odo via the contact form on the Mysterium website.

Coming Up: Mysterium 2010 Location Voting!

Hey, folks!

With location bidding now closed, voting on the location of Mysterium 2010 will open on July 12th, and close the night of July 18th, so mark your calendars! In the meantime, we will be scrutinizing each city to come up with some useful information for each that we will provide at the time of voting. That will hopefully give everyone a better idea of what visiting each city would entail.

We just wanted to give everyone an early heads-up on this, because this poll will only be open for only one week, and we want to make sure that everyone who wants to vote is able to. Details on the voting and where the voting will take place will come in the near future, so keep watching Mysterium.net and your local community forum!

Location Bidding Closure

Hey, everyone!

I’m taking this time to remind you all that the Mysterium 2010 location bidding will close the night of June 30th. At the time of this writing, we still don’t have any community submissions, so if you can commit to sending in a bid, we will give it special consideration. Honestly, we’d much rather have you folks submit a city than for us to come up with a handful of suggestions on our own.

If you’re at all interested, be sure to check out the rules and submission form we’ve got posted over on the 2010 section of the site: http://www.mysterium.net/mysterium-2010/location-bidding/ . Once the bidding has closed and we sift through all the information, we’ll give you a heads up on when to expect the location poll to go live! It will certainly be in the next few weeks, so keep an eye peeled!
