Hotel
Mysterium 2026 will be held at the DoubleTree hotel by Lloyd Center, located at 1000 NE Multnomah St, Portland, OR 97232.
Room options are one king or two queens, and the rate for these rooms will be $139/night plus taxes. A link to book your room and more details will be available soon!

Getting Around
Portland utilizes an incredibly robust public transportation system called Tri-Met. Tri-Met owns the busses, light rail (MAX) trains, and the streetcar systems, meaning you can purchase a ticket and use it on any of those three transit types.
Adult fare prices are as follows, as of November 2025:
- 2.5 hours – $2.80
- Full day – $5.60
Tri-Met has upgraded its ticket system to Hop readers. The easiest way to pay is via tap using your phone, credit card, or similar on a Hop reader at the MAX station or on a bus. That will automatically grant you a 2.5 hour ticket. If you purchase another ticket after those 2.5 hours have passed, you are automatically upgraded to a full-day pass. Transportation to the Hotel
From the airport:
The easiest way to get to the hotel from the airport is to take the Tri-Met MAX train. There’s only one line that goes to the airport, which is the Red Line, which runs every 15-30 minutes depending on the time of day. So hop onto that line, and you’ll want either the NE 11th/Lloyd Center stop or the NE 7th Ave stop. The hotel is right in between the two. You won’t need to transfer lines, and the trip will last approximately 20-30 minutes.

Food cart pods don’t show up on google maps, but here are three located in Downtown Portland, easily accessible by a MAX ride for anyone who wants The Experience of food carts. And one cart that’s in the Northeast side, but not quite within walking distance of the hotel.
Weather
We have a saying here in Portland. “If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes, it’ll change!”
Roughly eight months out of the year is our rainy season, where it’s primarily overcast or raining, but the summer months can get pretty warm. Temperatures typically average between 70 and 90 degrees on most days, so be prepared for that.

- Ice skating – Ever want to go ice skating? Now you can!
- Docking Bay 45 – In the Lloyd Center mall is a Star Wars themed build-your-own lightsaber… thing.
- And many more.
- Black Cat Frozen Custard – Oh, I’m sorry, you wanted coffee? Find the password and whisper it to the barista, who will open a secret door. Yep. It’s a thing.
- Oregon Zoo – We have a great zoo! The elephant program in particular is pretty robust.
- Hoyt Arboretum – Tree museum. It’s beautiful and includes a lot of walking paths.
- Rose Garden – Why Portland is called the Rose City.
- Portland Art Museum – Beautiful art museum.
- OMSI – Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. Lots of hands-on exhibits.
- Japanese Gardens – Breathtaking gardens. Can easily spend a whole day there.
- Chinese Gardens – Authentic Chinese Gardens in the heart of downtown Portland.
- Oak’s Park – Local amusement park. Small- to medium-sized roller coasters, roller skating, it’s all around good fun. Right next to:
- Oak’s Bottom Wildlife Refuge – Beautiful walking paths through wetlands.
- Crystal Springs Rhododendron Gardens – Breathtaking gardens. You can usually get a bag of bird seed up the street for a dollar to feed to the massive number of ducks and geese that hang out here.
- Ground Kontrol – Local classic arcade.
- Next Level Pinball Museum – One of the world’s largest arcades.
- Shanghai Tunnels – Not a great part of our history, but fascinating.
- Glowing Greens – Glow in the dark, underground, mini golf. Yep.
- Waterfront Park – Beautiful park right on the river.
- Voodoo Donuts – Yeah, the ones that come in a pink box.
- SO much more. Will be looking for local escape rooms.
Day Trip (but you will need a car) Ideas

- Vista House – Overlooks the Columbia River Gorge, one of the most beautiful scenes here in the Pacific Northwest!
- Historic Columbia River Highway – Scenic highway that runs alongside Interstate 84 between Corbett and Dodson and features a plethora of waterfalls and hiking trails.
- Enchanted Forest – It’s like walking into a fairy tale forest!
- Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum – Home of the Spruce Goose, the world’s largest wooden plane, as well as a fabulous museum of things that fly.
- Wine Country – There are a ton of local wineries in the McMinnville and Dundee areas.
- Skibowl – Want a bit of adventure? Go bungee jumping, zip lining, or ride the alpine slide on Mount Hood!
- Tree to Tree Adventure – Was bungee jumping too much? Tree to Tree might be more your thing. Zip lining and aerial obstacle courses!
Oregon Coast things
Things to note if you’re going to the coast. Bring a jacket. Yes, yes, I know it’s summer. Oregon coast summer weather is shorts and a jacket. It’ll be cold and windy. But oh so worth it! And a note about the temperature of the ocean at the Oregon Coast. The water is cold. If you want to roll up your pant legs and dip your feet in, by all means, do so. But please don’t run in hoping to do some snorkeling. Any submersion in the ocean above your waist will require a wetsuit. And for the love of Myst, please be aware of tides and currents!

- Tillamook Creamery and Cheese Factory – You’ve probably had their ice cream and cheese. It’s some of the best we’ve got. They work with local dairy farms for the milk.
- Tillamook Air Museum – Hey, museums are cool, ok?
- Cape Meares – Home of the famous Octopus Tree, a lighthouse that’s straight out of the Stoneship Age, and some beautiful walking paths right along the coast.
- Canon Beach – Remember that rock in the Goonies? Yep, we have it here. It’s Haystack Rock. In the summer months, tufted puffins will come nest on it.
- Seaside Aquarium – The oldest privately owned aquarium on the West Coast.
- Fort Stevens State Park – Decent camping, also has the remains of a shipwreck on the coast! Granted, not much of it remains, but how much more Haven could we get?
- Astoria, Oregon – Right at the mouth of the Columbia River. Home of the Goonies House, sea lions, good food, and beer.
- Three Rocks Refuge – Netarts has some beautiful beaches. A bit secluded, but good if you want to avoid the crowds.
- Neskowin Ghost Forest – A spooky but beautiful remnant of a forest resides here. Also features some beautiful tide pools.
- Lincoln City, Oregon – Lots of good food, good beaches, watch for sea lions! They like to sunbathe here.
- Depoe Bay, Oregon – A personal favorite. The world’s smallest harbor and Oregon’s top spot for whale watching! You can book whale watching tours or just have a seat on a bench somewhere in town and keep an eye out. There are resident whales that live in the bay year-round.
- Otter Crest – A breathtaking vista point along the coast.
- Oregon Coast Aquarium – A good, solid aquarium! Lots of great things to see.
- Hatfield Marine Science Center – Need a small aquarium fix but without the crowds? This might be more your cup of tea.
